Jackaroo Complex is a partnership-based game played by four players. Opposing players forms teams, using a standard deck of 52 cards without jokers. Each player receives 16 game stones, four stones of the same color for each player.
Game Board Zones
Jackaroo Complex is played on a unique game board comprising six main zones:
1. Home Zone: There are four home zones, one for each player.
2. Base Zone: Four base zones, one for each player.
3. Safe Zone: Four safe zones, one for each player.
4. Path Zone: A shared path for all players.
5. Fire Pile Zone: The area where discarded cards are placed.
6. Deck Zone: The face-down cards used for drawing.
Cards and Distribution
· The goal of the game is to move stones from the home to the base, and then through the path to the safe zone. The team that gets all eight stones (total) into their safe zone first is the winner.
· Each player chooses four stones of the same color and places them in their home. The dealer distributes four cards to each player, and the remaining cards form the deck in the deck zone.
Jackaroo Complex Cards
1. Ace Cards: Used to move any stone from home to the base or advance any stone in the path by 1 or 11 steps.
2. King Cards (K): Regardless of the card suit, they can move a stone from home to the base or move any stone in the path 13 steps forward. They can also capture an opponent's stone and return it to their home.
3. Jack Cards (J): Used to swap any stone the player has with an opponent's stone, provided neither is in the home, base, or safe zone.
4. 7 Cards: Regardless of the suit, they can be split into two steps for any stone on the path.
5. 4 Cards: Regardless of the suit, they can move any stone backwards on the path by 4 steps.
6. 5 Cards: They can move any stone from the game stones or other players in the path forward by 5 steps.
7. Other Cards (Q – 9 – 8 – 6 – 3 – 2): Each can move one stone on the path forwards by the value of the card.
How to Play
1. At the beginning of the game, players randomly determine the dealer. The dealer shuffles the cards and distributes 4 cards to each player.
2. The game starts with the player to the left of the dealer and play proceeds clockwise.
3. After all cards are used, the discarded cards in the fire pile are shuffled and placed in the deck zone.
4. The new dealer is the player to the left of the previous dealer, and this continues in subsequent rounds.
5. The game ends when all eight game stones of a team enter their safe zone.
Special Rules
- If a stone stops on another stone, the blocked stone is returned to its home.
- A stone on a player's base cannot be skipped, captured, swapped, or moved.
- A player cannot pass themselves under any circumstances.
- If 2 stones are in sequence, the front stone is considered the "base". It cannot be skipped, captured, swapped, or moved unless using a King card.
- If two stones are in sequence, and one is on a player's base, the player can use a King card to capture and return the stone to its home. The player with this base can also eliminate this stone by placing a new stone from their home on it.
- To enter the safe zone, the card's value must be sufficient to allow the stone's entry, preventing the player from circling again.
