Get ready to break, aim, and pocket your way to victory in the classic game of Pool, now available on Jawaker! Whether you're a skilled pro or just discovering the pool world, this game promises excitement, strategy, and endless fun.
The Basics
The pool's objective is straightforward: pocket all your designated balls (stripes or solids) and sink the 8-ball to claim the win. The game is typically played on a rectangular table with 6 pockets, 15 numbered balls, and a cue stick.
Getting Started
1. Racking: Arrange the 15 balls in a triangle, with the 8-ball in the center. Specific order matters: a stripe and a solid at the two back corners, and the rest placed randomly.
2. Breaking: The player breaking hits the cue ball from behind the head string, aiming to scatter the balls across the table.
3. Legal Break: A legal break involves pocketing a ball or driving at least four balls to a rail. Failure leads to a foul and loss of turn.
Gameplay
· Choosing the Balls: Each player is assigned stripes or solids after the break based on the first ball legally pocketed. Pocket all your designated balls first before aiming for the 8-ball.
· Legal Shots: Always hit one of your designated balls first, followed by another. Failing to do so results in a foul.
· Pocketing the 8-Ball: Once all your designated balls are in, it's time for the grand finale. Call your intended pocket for the 8-ball and sink it to claim victory. But beware, pocketing it in the wrong pocket leads to a loss!
· Pocketing the 8-Ball Prematurely: Pocketing the 8-Ball before its time will automatically cause you to lose the game.
- Pocketing the 8-Ball at the break: This will be considered a foul and will not cause you to lose the game. The 8-Ball will be placed at the center of the table and your opponent will take the turn.
Watch Out for Fouls
· Pocketing the cue ball.
· If no ball touches a rail after initial contact.
· Failing to hit your designated ball first.
· If the cue ball fails to contact any other ball on the table.
· Not hitting any balls during the break (illegal break).
· Potting the 8-ball in the wrong pocket or potting the cue ball with it.
Consequences of a Foul
All fouls result in losing the turn to your opponent, who then gets the ball in hand (placing it anywhere on the table). However, fouling on the 8-ball means the end of the game.
